Built-in upholstered bench

Built-In Upholstered Bench

The Vision

Custom millwork is a great way to maximize space in your home that may be wasted otherwise. Our client wanted a bench built in an odd-shaped space to feature 3 beautiful windows in the home. The bench would not only serve as a great place to read a book but also add functionality with storage inside it. The bench was built out of maple, and then painted with durable cabinet-grade paint.

The Outcome

Because the house had already been built, the bench had to incorporate space in the back to allow the floor vent to blow hot and cool air through to keep the house at the desired temperature. The top was then upholstered with cushions that upholstered with three removable cushions for cleaning, and the middle bench opens to use the whole inside as storage along with soft closing hinges.
